⚠️ IMPORTANT! Casting thickness ≠ casting volume !!! DO NOT CONSIDER ONLY THE LAYER THICKNESS — TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE SURFACE AREA AND THE TOTAL VOLUME OF RESIN!!! The maximum casting thickness of up to 10 cm does not mean that HL-310 can be poured in a 10 cm thick layer on a surface of any size.
During polymerization, epoxy resin generates heat. The larger the amount of resin poured at one time, the higher the risk of excessive self-heating.
When pouring large areas, even a relatively thin layer can contain a large amount of resin. If the casting volume is too large, the temperature inside the layer can rise sharply, which may lead to:
overheating and “boiling” of the resin;
formation of a large number of bubbles;
cloudiness;
waves and surface deformation;
damage to fillers and the wooden base;
uneven curing.
For large volumes and massive castings, we recommend using HL-521, or pouring HL-310 in several layers, with a maximum thickness of 20 mm per layer.
Safety instructions: !!! Always follow basic safety precautions! When working with any epoxy resins, use a respirator and wear protective gloves. If you have increased eye sensitivity, be sure to wear protective safety glasses. Mixing ratio: A:B = 3:1 The correct mixing ratio of the components must be determined by weight. We recommend using accurate scales to properly weigh the components. DO NOT attempt to measure the components by volume. Mixing containers must be clean and dry, free from potential contaminants such as dirt, dust or grease. The components must be mixed in a well-ventilated area. Mix only the amount of HL-310 resin that is required for the application, together with the corresponding amount of hardener. Mix thoroughly for 3–7 minutes, scraping the product from the sides and bottom of the container. Double mixing is recommended. Before pouring the epoxy resin onto a surface or object, it is recommended to thoroughly prime it with a thin layer of the same resin. This is especially recommended for porous surfaces to prevent the formation of air bubbles. Pour the mixture in a single continuous stream directed toward the lowest point of the mold. Allow the mixture to distribute itself evenly. Uniform flow helps prevent air from becoming trapped in the mixture. The curing time at room temperature varies depending on the mass of the mixture. The surface of the finished product can be sanded. When mechanically processing or sanding the product, wear a respirator to prevent dust from entering the respiratory tract. The working time and curing time directly depend on the mass and configuration of the product. Full curing time: 24–96 hours (+ 5–7 days before polishing and sanding). Finished products are strong and durable. They can be mechanically processed, painted, primed or bonded to other surfaces.
⚠️ If, after receiving the product, you notice any signs that the material may be defective or of improper quality, you must notify us immediately and provide information about the product batch, storage conditions and conditions of use. In such a case, we will be able to investigate the situation and, if necessary, arrange for the product to be returned for inspection. ⚠️ If the buyer discovers a problem with the material but continues to use it, independently changes the mixing ratio or application procedure, or fails to contact the supplier regarding inspection and return of the product, the supplier cannot be held responsible for any consequences related to the further use of the material or the finished product made from it.
